CEE inner TOF prototype design and preliminary test results

The Cooling Storage Ring (CSR) External-target Experiment(CEE) is the first multi-purpose nuclear physics experimental device to operate in GeV energy range at Heavy-Ion Research Facility(HIRFL-CSR) Lanzhou, China. primary goals of CEE are study bulk properties dense matter and understand quantum chromo-dynamic (QCD) phase diagram by measuring charged particles produced heavy-ion collisions target region with a large acceptance. An inner time flight (iTOF) system has been proposed measure multiplicity, angular distribution, information particles. Herein, we introduce performance requirements iTOF according calculations GEANT4 simulations. characterized high granularity performance, hence, conceptual design wall adopts Multi-gap Resistive Plate Chambers (MRPC) resolution around 30 ps. To evaluate MRPC design, cosmic ray test was performed. A timing better than 28 ps an efficiency 98% achieved for MIPs, as interpreted simulation jitter components.
